Jon was so lucky to get an unprecedented 4 days off in a row at work, without asking for the time off. So we decided to take a mini vacation and visit our friends in Seattle for the weekend. We left Friday after work and I took Monday off so we could be there for a full 3 days. On our way to Seattle we stopped in North Bend for a bathroom break. We decided to stop and see Snoqualamie Falls. I had never seen them and neither had he. It was so pretty.
Once we got to Everett, we visited with Bill and Brittney and they took us out to dinner at a teriyaki place. It was really good.
On Saturday we went to Downtown Seattle to see the sights. Our first stop was the Space Needle. It had been a long time since I had been up. I love the views you get up there. It was a little chilly and windy up on top, so we were definitely glad for the jackets.
Right next to the SpaceNeedle is Chihuly Gardens. It is a garden where everything is made of glass. I wanted to see it but we weren't willing to pay for it this time. Maybe next time...anyway, they had a few of the glass sculptures outside so I took a few pictures while we were waiting for Bill to come from work.
Jon contemplated joining the dark side, but he decided it wasn't worth it.
After the Space Needle, we went to the Seattle Aquarium. It had been a good 15 years since I was there, so it was fun to see. This Octopus was moving all over the place. I found out after we came home that he tried to escape the week we were there. I wish I could have seen that.
It was so fun to watch Sean look at all the fish
I thought these were really cool. They are quill fish.
I had so much fun seeing Brittney
These sea lions were so fun to watch, especially when it was feeding time.
After the aquarium we went on a boat cruise tour around Elliott Bay. This was so cool. Jon and I had such a great time. Jon took many pictures. It was such a perfect day.
They were telling us that these sea lions come up from California. They are all male, and they come up to eat the fish and get fat so that the females will want them when they get back to California. I the sea lion world, the fatter the better. So they eat fish and sun themselves on this buoy in Elliott Bay.
My hubby the sports fanatic had to get pictures of centurylink and safeco fields. :)
We were so exhausted at the end of our day, we went home had dinner and watched a movie. It was so a great day. We enjoyed spending the day with Brittney, Bill and Sean. Thanks guys for playing with us. :)
