And we are off!!!
We stopped at the viewpoint in Goldendale to view Mt Hood and Mt Adams.
We stopped at a view point on the Columbia River. It was so pretty.
Next stop was the waterfall hiway, and Horse Tail Falls
Next is Multnomah Falls. Jon had never been here before, so it was fun to see his reaction. I love this place.
After Multnomah falls, we were ready for lunch, so we stopped in Troutdale and ate at Burgerville. It was so good. Jon hadn't eaten there before and he loved it. It was definitely worth the stop.
We didn't make any more stops until we got to Lincoln City.
The beach the day we got there. I was so excited to be there. It has been so long since I had been there. I don't want it to be that long again.
The view from our Restaurant Window. Beautiful!!!
We stayed at Devil's Lake State park, but we didn't have anything to have a campfire or anything. We weren't sure what to do after dinner. It was too cold to sit on the beach, so we went to see a movie. We saw Jurassic World. There were only about 5 other couples in the theater. We enjoyed the movie and had fun seeing my cousin Jeff in a scene.
Saturday we headed south and went to Alder House Glass Blowing shop. I wanted Jon to see this guy make blown glass things. It was so fun.
We went down to Depoe Bay and looked around. We looked for Whales, but didn't see any. We did have to buy Salt Water Taffy there. They had so many different kinds of flavors. It was hard to pick which ones we wanted to have!!
After Depoe Bay we headed back to Lincoln City and got Jon a stunt kite so he could fly it. It was really windy, so it was perfect flying weather.
It was so windy the waves were really big.
On Sunday June 21st was Father's Day. Jon and I went to church in Lincoln City and then headed south towards California. Jon's dad arrived in Depoe Bay that day and so we met them in Depoe Bay and headed down to Newport to see 2 lighthouses that are there. The first lighthouse we stopped at was Yaquina Head. It was fun to spend this time with Brent and Gerri. We had perfect weather all day.
Jon and his dad Brent
Next Lighthouse in Newport was Yaquina Bay. This is not an operating lighthouse anymore. Yaquina Head is the operating lighthouse in Newport now.
We liked the big bridge in Newport.
After spending a little time with Brent and Gerri, we made sandwiches and ate at the lighthouse and then headed on down the coast. We drove the coastal road all the way down to Crescent City. It was such a beautiful drive.
Next stop Heceta Head Lighthouse.
Next stop Umpqua River Lighthouse
The coast guard lives in the homes around this lighthouse.
Next stop Cape Blanco Lighthouse. The road to the lighthouse was closed because it was about 7. So I had to take pictures from the bluff. I am amazed at how good the zoom is on my camera. If you look really closely at the 2nd picture you can see the lighthouse really tiny. That is how far away I am.
This was the last spot before we made it to Emily's. We got to Emily's about 8:30. This drive was so beautiful. I would totally do it again. We had such a blast seeing all the lighthouses.
We just went to a lot of the places that you went. You were there a week before us. That is so funny. I'm glad you got to go and have a good time. :)
