....What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....
Well not today!!!! Jon and I were able to go on vacation for a week to Las Vegas. It was so fun for us. We walked, swam and did as much as we could do while we were there. We were there with Jon's mom, and his sister Karie and her family. We had a wonderful time, but were sure tired when we got home.
Waiting to board the plane.
On our way to Seattle
It was a beautiful flight. Mount Rainier was beautiful.
We had an hour and a half layover in Seattle. We were so excited when we were finally on our way to Vegas.
The first day we got there we just hung around the condo and went swimming. They had two swimming pools and a lazy river. That head floating is Jon.
Tuesday morning we played a little volleyball in the pool.
That afternoon we went to investigate things down at the strip. First stop New York, New York
After dinner with Pat and Karie's family we headed back down to the strip to ride the roller coaster at the New York, New York
Then we headed down to Fremont St. This is the Vegas I have seen in all the movies. It was really cool to see how much they lit the casinos.
Elvis was performing.
Back to the new strip to watch the dancing waters, right across from the Paris Hotel.
It was so pretty at night.
This was one of my most favorite things.
We went down to the strip again on Wednesday and ran into Michael Jackson!! Jon was really excited.
MJ was right near M&M world, our next stop. This place was unbelievable. They had 4 floors of M&M Paraphernalia.
The second floor had a wall of different kinds of M&Ms you could mix and match in a back to purchase. It was really awesome.
After M&M world we headed down to the other end of the strip to the Venetian Hotel. This hotel was so beautiful. They also have a Carlo's Bakery inside from the TV show Cake Boss. We thought about getting something from there but the line was out the door and down the hall. It looked like a very long wait, and we decided we really didn't need all that.
While at the Venetian, we headed to the wax museum...This was one of our favorite things. We loved how real the celebrities looked even though they were made out of wax.
I stopped in to say hi to Johnny Depp.
Then we talked to George Clooney and Julia Roberts
Matthew Mcconaughey
Had a good chat with Ben Affleck about his new Batman movie.
There were so many people we had to wait to see everything.
Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt
I was waiting to hear from Wayne Brady what I won on Let's Make a Deal
I stopped by and tried Lucy's chocolate. It was delicious.
It was so good, Jon had to try some. ;)
My girl Sophia Vergara and I ready to go out on the town.
Michael Jackson
Your friendly neighborhood Spiderman
I couldn't pass by Tim McGraw without a picture.
Nick Fury right before we headed into out 4D movie
The Incredible Hulk
Joan Rivers Greeted us
Jon with Dewayne Johnson
We had a lovely chat with Sandra Bullock
Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck
Halle Berry
Bruce Willis
Jon's on Oprah
Dancing with Byonce
Is that Jon or Michael Jackon?
Watching a movie with Will Smith
Bond, James Bond
We entered into a theater where we watched a 15 min Avengers cartoon movie in 4D. It was really fun. We wore 3D glasses of course to make the movie 3D. We would get sprayed with water, have air blown on on faces and on our feet that went along with the movie. That's what the 4D part was. We really had a great time at the wax museum.
After the wax museum we headed down to the front of the Venetian to go on a Gondola ride. We had such a great time. Our gondola driver was hilarious. His name was Cosmo. He even sang love songs to us in Italian.
Our Gondola Driver
It was hot outside, but we sure had a lot of fun.
Thursday was a big day. We got onto a tour bus and headed to Hoover Dam. Our tour guide was really cool. He knew a lot of information, and he was just a lot of fun. I made him laugh a lot. I was really excited to see it. The dam was massive. I did not realize how big it was. Pictures don`t do it justice.
On the Pink Jeep headed to Hoover Dam
The Colorado River
Lake Mead is very low. In fact it is the lowest it has ever been. The top of the white on the rock you see is where the water is when it is full. Because of droughts, they haven't gotten enough water to fill the lake to the full capacity.
I was so excited to go to Hoover dam in part because it crosses the state line between Arizona and Nevada. I really wanted to get a picture at the state line because then I could say I was in two places at once! I don't know when i will ever be in that position again. The little gold ball on the sidewalk is not the state line. It is at the middle of the sign.
Hoover Dam doesn't have any spillways in the front. They actually put them on the sides, because they would never open spillways. They said that the spillway is only used when the lake gets filled to overcapacity. Then the overflow on the sides and go out the side.
Memorial of those who died while building the dam.
We did go on a tour of the inside of the dam. They all look pretty much the same on the inside, but i still like to look.
When we got back from Hoover Dam we headed straight to the temple.
The temple was beautiful. It was so nice to be able to spend some time in the temple. What a perfect way to end the day.
We ran into Bumble Bee while we were headed to Hershey's World.
Inside Hershey's world the was a solid Chocolate Statue of Liberty
And a chocolate Empire State Building
We enjoyed dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe
We had some great smoothies in our souvenir glasses
The Volcano at the MGM Grand
Jon and I went to the Paris Casino and Hotel to ride up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. It was so beautiful. This was the bridge we came across to wait our turn to go up the tower. It was lined with all those lamps. The picture does not do it justice.
We got to the top and saw the most breathtaking view. Enjoy.
We had such a good trip. It was so fun to spend so much time with Jon. Thanks Dee for giving us the possibility of having such a wonderful vacation.
