She's here!!

Early in the morning on September 12, I had to get up to go to the bathroom.  It was about 2:00 in the morning.  I went back to bed and had a hard time falling asleep.  All of a sudden, at about 3:00, I felt like I really needed to go to the bathroom and quick, or I wasn't going to make it.  I jumped out of bed and started to the toilet, when I just couldn't hold it anymore, and I felt like I peed all the way to the bathroom.  As I sat down, I realized that my water had actually broken.  So I called to Jon from the bathroom and told him my water broke we needed to go to the hospital.  Because I still had 2 weeks before she was to come, we didn't have a hospital bag packed.  That was something I just hadn't gotten around to.  So Jon started packing as I called my mom to let her know my water broke, and I needed her to come up to watch the boys.  It was going to be a good hour before she would be able to be here, so we tried to find someone in the meantime.  I hopped in the shower, because I felt gross, and then we got a hold of Jon's sister Darla and her husband Doug.  They came to the house to be with the boys while we headed to the hospital.  Jon dropped me off at the ER.  I walked in while he went to park the car.  They asked me at the desk if I was having contractions.  I told them no but my water broke.  So they started the paperwork to admit me.  They took me up to the maternity ward and checked to see if I was really still going to need a c section.  It was about 5:00 at this point, and I had been starting to feel contractions for about a half an hour.  They checked to see if I was dilated, I was only dilated to 1 cm.  But the Dr on call could feel the baby's feet when he checked, so he knew she was definitely still breech.  But they weren't anything I couldn't handle.  They got a hold of my Dr and she came to let me know she was here.  They wheeled me down to an operating room and started prepping me for surgery.  I was on the table and ready for surgery by 6:20 and at 6:26 she was born.  I did not understand the feeling I would have when I had her.  They held her up where I could see her and then they took her to get cleaned up.  They wrapped her up, and before taking her out to the recovery room to get cleaned up and weighed, they put her up by my face.  I didn't get to hold her, but I got to touch her face and her head.  She was this perfect pink little girl.  I couldn't believe she was finally here.  I had waited so long.  They then took her away, and Jon got to be with her, while I stayed in the OR getting stitched up.  It felt like forever before I could be reunited with Jon and the baby.

I didn’t think it was fair that Jon got to hold her for so long while I was waiting to be stitched up.

  Jocelyn Ann Robbins
6 pounds 2 oz 19 1/4 in long
Born 6:26am

She is just so beautiful and perfect. She is definitely a tiny little thing.

Of course the entire family knew she was here and my mom, Dad, grandpa, and my two sisters Lisa and Lori came to the hospital to come and see her. She was only a couple of hours old. They were so excited. While they were here they were making me laugh so hard. It hurt so bad to laugh because I had just been cut open. But I loved having them come and visit.
By some of these pictures you can tell why I was laughing so hard. My family is funny when we get together.

This selfie was taken after several tries. My mom hasn’t gotten the selfie thing down yet. Lol

My dad always loves to see the feet. Jocelyn’s feet were so small her hospital bracelet always fell off. The hospital staff stopped putting it back on her.

This was a very spiritual experience for me. I was watching grandpa hold Jocelyn and I watched how quiet and tender he was with her. As I sat there I just started to cry. I knew that my grandmother was there in the room with us and that she was so happy for all of us. When she was on this earth she always told me that she was really praying for us. That we would be able to have a baby. I wish she could have been in that room physically, but I know she was right there next to grandpa.

I was so tired I was totally oblivious to what was going on. Lol

Lori has perfected the selfie. Lol

I’m so glad my family was able to come up to see this precious little miracle.
Later that day Jon brought the boys to meet their sister for the first time. I just love the expressions on their face as they hold her. Malachi came walking into my hospital room whispering because of the baby. It was super cute.

She is so small she is wearing preemie clothes. They are so cute.

She finally gets to go home. We have been in the hospital for two days and I am so ready to have her home.
