In Memoriam

On September 26, 2014 Jon's Grandma Robbins passed away at the age of 93.  The memorial was in Royal City with a dinner in Othello to follow on October 3rd.  Jon was able to get three days off for bereavement and we were able to head to Royal City.

The memorial was at this tiny little cemetery in Royal City.  By tiny I mean you can drive right past and totally miss the cemetery.  But it was a beautiful warm and sunny day.  There were a lot of family I got to meet for the first time.

There was a small program.  Ron Robbins sang How Great Thou Art.  He did a great job and it was really nice.  Grandma's bishop, Bishop Risenmay spoke for a few minutes.  Then Bishop Steve Martin dedicated the grave.  After the memorial I met Bishop Risenmay and asked him if he was related to our Area Authority 70 Elder Risenmay.  Turns out Elder Risenmay is his Uncle.  I told him I used to work with Elder Risnemay in the single adult program.  So we had a good visit.

After the memorial we headed over to the Othello church building.  They had a table set up with a lot of pictures and things about his grandma.

We had an enjoyable time visiting with everyone.  It was so great to meet so many people I had never met.
