I think I can sew!
I have such a hard time trying to find shorter skirts that are long enough for me. So I decided to try to make a skirt. I found some fabric that I fell in love with and with the help of my mom, cut it out and sewed it together. It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Trying New Things!!
Jon and I have been looking for ways to save money and so we decided to try our hand at making our own laundry detergent. I found several different recipes online and found one that I thought I would like. It was actually pretty easy, and I found that I could get 10 gallons of laundry soap with a minimal amount of ingredients.
I spent about $8 on all the ingredients and came home and got started. I was amazed at how easy it was to make. It did take a little time because you have to melt the bar of soap, but it was very easy. I let it sit over night to gel. The next day Jon put all the laundry detergent into jars. We got just short of 40 quarts. We have tried it on a couple of loads, and it works and smells great!! I was pretty excited that it worked so well. So now we are just tracking to see how long it will last us and how many loads it will do. Hopefully it will last us a long time.
