Thanksgiving 2015

For Thanksgiving this year, we spent it down in Grandview with family.  We had so many people there.  I believe we had a total of 29 for Thanksgiving day.  I was so busy with visiting with Family that I didn't take any pictures.  But we had Emily and her family, Me and Jon, Lisa and her family, Darin and his family, Dave and Chris, Adam and Brandi and their family, Jessica, Tony and Jasmine, Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Curtis.  It was so fun to have so much family.

Thanksgiving day was on November 26th which is also Brian's birthday.  We all called and wished him a happy birthday.  And we had quite the feast.  Everything was so good.  It was so hard not to try a little bit of everything.  We definitely ate good that day.  I am so thankful for a family who taught me to know and love Jesus Christ.  I am so thankful that we are an eternal family bound by the sealing powers that are only found in the temple.  I am so thankful for the friendships I have with my family.  I love them all.

Grandpa's Birthday

My Grandpa turned 89 yesterday and we were down there to celebrate his birthday for a big dinner.  It was so fun to see him around several of his kids.  It was so fun to see everyone we hadn't seen in a while.  He was so happy to have so many of his family around.  Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!  We love you!

Ch-ch-ch changes!

Jon and I have been making a lot of decisions lately that have impacted our lives forever.  We have been going through a lot to be able to be parents.  We have been going through the process of getting licensed to be foster parents.  We are doing the foster adopt program.  We are hoping we will be able to expand our family permanently by adopting one of these kids.  It has been a long process.  We are done with all our paperwork, and the whole report should be submitted this week.  The foster agency we are going through said we should be licensed before Christmas and we should have a kiddo to celebrate Christmas with.  We are really excited to be parents.

This weekend was a special weekend.  When Darin married Christy, she had a little girl.  Shortly after they were married Darin started the process of adopting Makaela.  It has been a long time, but the adoption was finalized in October.  So yesterday November 21, 2015 Makaela was sealed to Darin and Christy for eternity.  It was such a special experience seeing this sealing take place.  Makaela is such a sweet little girl and I am so excited to have her officially part of our family and to be sealed with her forever.  Congratulations Darin and Christy!!!

Another Birthday

Jon really tried to make my birthday special this year.  He had been planning on what he wanted to do and give me for my birthday.  The night of my birthday Jon made me dinner of steak and potatoes.  He knows that's what I love to eat, and so he had it ready for me when I got home from work.  It was delicious.

Tues before my birthday, my visiting teacher made me a quilt of nursery rhymes.  It was so cute.

Jon sent me some flowers at work.  I thought they were just so beautiful, and he was so sweet.

After dinner Jon gave me this great cake decorating book.

He also gave me the cutest picture.  I saw this on facebook and fell in love with it.  He surprised me by giving me this.  It is beautiful.

After dinner we went to watch The Hunger Games Mockingjay part 2.  It was sooooo good.  I loved watching it.  We watched the very first show at 9:00.  I enjoyed the movie a lot.

On Friday, we drove down to Grandview and had my birthday dinner with my family.  There was a lot of family.  My Aunt Mel and Uncle Tim, Uncle Darrell and Aunt Robyn and three of their daughters Sabrena, Brooke, and Jacobi.  It was fun to have all of them there.  We had a wonderful dinner of Enchilada Casserole with Sundaes for dessert.  It was delicious.  I had a great birthday.

Trying Something New

I always like doing new things.  I have started having an interest in making cakes.  I made my first cake from scratch and was really pleased with how it turned out.  I made homemade marshmallow fondant with snowflake cutouts.  I fed it to the missionaries.  They thought it was awesome.  It tasted so good.  I have a lot to learn, but I know I can get better.
