Easter Weekend

For Easter weekend we invited Jon's mom to come and visit for the holiday.  When I came home from work, I looked around the house and found Jon and his mom working out in the back yard.  Jon had been working for several hours on a tree stump that he wanted to get out.  By the time I got home, he had it almost all finished.  It was a huge log!!  And he used the tiniest hatchet to get that thing out.

Friday night we invited Jon's sister and brother in law to come over for games and ice cream.   So on Saturday night, we colored easter eggs.  Jon had to work so he wasn't able to color them with us. So Jon's mom and I colored them.  We had a good time.

We did have a visit from the Easter bunny.  It's always fun to have a little treat.

For dinner I made ham, cheesy potato casserole, and a fresh fruit salad.  Boy it was sure good.  It was so nice to have Jon's mom here for the holiday.

Very Cool Opportunity

I had such a great opportunity to witness the adoption of a little baby to a very dear friend of mine.  They have struggled for a long time to have a baby, and haven't been able to.  A year ago, they were called to foster a little boy who had just been born, and the parents had left the hospital.  They got to pick him up at the hospital at just a week old.  For the last year, they have loved him and taken care of him just like he was their own child.  During that process, they found out they were going to be able to adopt this cute little boy.  And at the end of March, they finally got to adopt him.  It was such an honor to be able to take photos for this couple.

The next week, I was able to attend the sealing of this little boy to this couple.  It was such a special occasion.  It was so nice to see this family sealed for time and all eternity.  It really gave me hope that someday I will be able to have a baby.  I did take a few pictures on my phone of that special day.

The night of the sealing we stayed in Grandview with my parents, because Jon had a couple of Baseball games the next day in Grandview.  Saturday Lisa and her family came to my parents also and my parents had a surprise for the grandkids.  They had soo much fun.

They had so much fun riding this little horse.  It is the coolest tire swing I have ever seen.

Time Out for Women

I had the opportunity to go to Time Out for Women in Spokane with my mom this year.  We had such a good time.  When we got to our hotel, I looked out the window of our room and was so excited to see the Bing Crosby Theater!!!  I told my mom and we had to go down and get a picture in front of it.

We walked from our hotel to TOFW at the convention center.  We stopped off for dinner then started walking by the park to get to the convention center.  They had this really cool playground.  It was a big radio flyer wagon.  Underneath the wagon were some monkey bars you could go across on.  It was a cool little playground.

Heidi Swinton spoke Friday night.  She was the wife of Darin's mission president.  She loved Darin and Darin loved her.  It was so fun to see her again.  I had met her two years ago and she remembered me!!!  It was fun to meet her again and have her meet my mom and sister.

Saturday morning we left our hotel pretty early and so we decided to walk down to Spokane Falls.  I had never been there.  Had I realized it was that close to the convention center, I would have gone a long time ago.  They were so pretty.  It was a little chilly that morning, especially by the water, but it was such a beautiful morning.

I got to meet Sister Elaine Dalton.  Loved meeting her.  We had a very special moment together.

We thought it was hilarious that our cousin Andrew likes to mark his territory where ever he goes.

We had such a great time!!  It was so fun to spend so much time with my mom and sister.  We may have to do this again next year.
