Mother's Day

May 11th was Mother's Day.  Because of so many trips to Grandview and our trip to Seattle, we weren't able go to Grandview for Mother's Day.  Jon was also working that day.  A couple of days before Mother's Day, a wonderful lady from the ward stopped by and gave me some beautiful flowers just because she loves me.  It was such a tender moment, and it brought me to tears.

I am so thankful for my mom and for all the things she has done for me.  She is truly one of my best friends.  I am so grateful I was lucky enough to have her as my mom.  She is always such a great example to me and I just wish that one day I will be the kind of mom she has been.  Thanks mom for your understanding and love for me through everything.  I love you. Happy Mother's Day.

A day in Seattle

On May 10th Jon and I went to Seattle to watch a dear friend of ours get married in the Temple.  It was such a special time to experience with them.  We were going to meet another friend of ours in Bellevue for lunch, but plans were changed and so we ended up getting to Bellevue very early.  So to kill time, we walked around Deseret Book for an hour.  The wedding wasn't until 2:00 and we were done at the bookstore by 11:30.  Since our lunch plans fell through, we decided to eat lunch at the temple.  Then we walked around the temple grounds.  I love how peaceful it is, even on the outside.  It was a very enjoyable experience for us.

There was a duck just sitting on the lawn and a squirrel scampering around.  He was too fast for me to get a picture of.  They liked the peacefulness of it as well.

The happy couple!

After the sealing we had some time before the reception.  I was playing at the reception for the ring ceremony, so we headed up to Bothell.  Because we had quite a bit of time before the reception we called our friend Brittney who we were supposed to meet up with before and invited her to meet us.  Her husband Bill wasn't able to join us, but we did meet with her.  We had dinner at 5 guys and got to visit for a little bit.  It was so fun to hang out and see how well they were doing.

Congratulations Justin and Breanne!!  Thank you for letting us share in your special day!

Dinosaurs!!!--photo dump

I was so lucky to be able to have my nieces for a whole weekend.  I met my sister Lisa down at mom & dad's in Grandview to pick the girls up.

On our way to Yakima

Friday night I had a movie night for the girls.  I let them each watch a movie.  We watched Alladin, and The Little Mermaid.  I texted their mom earlier in the day and asked what their favorite candy bar was, and I made sure I had one for each of the girls.

Saturday morning Lindsey rode my bike around the neighborhood while Olivia and I played some games. They were so patient to wait until after lunch to go to the dinosaur exhibit.

After lunch we headed out to the sundome for the dinosaur exhibit.  The girls were so excited to go.  I had asked the week before if they could go, and so they had been looking forward to it all week.  I think I was just as excited.  I was looking forward to spending time with the girls.  The dinosaur exhibit was really cool.  The girls had such a great time.  They loved it.  I did too.

Ready to head to the Sundome

All the dinosaurs moved and made sounds.  It was really cool to see.

Next the girls got to dig for fossils

There was a dinosaur walking around that the girls got to pet and get close to.

They also got to ride dinosaurs!!

The girls also got to play on several different bouncy houses.  I didn't get a picture of them on those....the were all over the place.  They had a great time.

After the dinosaurs we went home and had dinner.   We decided to treat the girls to ice cream at Baskin Robbins.  They were excited.  We had some really good choices to choose from.

The girls had some energy they wanted to burn off, so they hoola hooped in the front yard with Jon.

The girls got to go to church with us the next day and then we had to say goodbye.  We had such a good time with them.  Thank you Lindsey and Olivia for coming to stay with us for the weekend.  We had so much fun with you and hope that you had a good time with us.
