My Niece turned 8!!!

My niece Olivia turned 8 on February 21st.  Because she turned 8 she was also baptized on the 22nd. She was so excited to be getting baptized.  It was so great to see her make such a big decision.  Olivia asked me if I would play the piano.  The spirit was so strong.  Here are a few pictures I got.

The Happy Family

After the baptism, we went back to Lisa's house to have lunch and celebrate Olivia's birthday.  There were so many people there.  It was so great to see all those people there for Olivia.  There were even more that were at the baptism then showed up at the house.  Instead of a cake for Olivia, Lisa made cupcakes with white frosting.  It was so cute.

It was also a lot easier to hand it out to people. No one had to wait for it to be cut.  It was great.  They did put a candle on it so Liv could blow it out.  What good is a birthday party with out singing and blowing out candles.

Olivia we are so proud of you and your decision to be baptized.  I can see that Heavenly Father has definitely saved the best for last....the most Valiant.  I love your desire to always do what is right.  You are so strong, and if you continue to remember the Savior in you life, you will always be happy and always know what the right thing to do will be.  I love you so much Liv.  Thank you for letting me share in your special day.

Be Mine

This Valentine's Day Jon worked really hard at making it special.  He started off the day by waking up early and making me breakfast in bed. It was really good.  He was so thoughtful.  I know how hard it is for him to get up when I do in the morning, so this really meant a lot to me.

I got off work at noon and ran a few errands.  When I got home, Jon was gone, and I walked in to a trail of candy hearts that led back to the bedroom.  Jon had written me a note telling me to get in a nice formal and arrive at the condo at 4pm

When I arrived at the Condo Jon had it all decorated and was just finishing up dinner.  We had a delicious dinner of Baked Potatoes, Pork Chops and Green Beans.  He even bought sparkling cider for the occasion.  We had a wonderful candlelit dinner.

It was so cute to walk in and see Jon in that apron.

He also surprised me with a little gift.  He gave me a cute stuffed bear and chocolate covered cherries.  My favorite!!

After a nice romantic dinner and dancing, we headed back to the house, where Jon surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Then it was my turn to do something cool for Jon.  A couple of days before Valentine's Day, I found this really cool idea on the internet for a scavenger hunt.  So I got everything all ready and put together one night while he was at work.

Because Jon was gone when I got home from work, that gave me a chance to get all the clues taped up around the house.  So when we got home, I gave Jon his mission and had him start.  It was so fun watching him trying to find all the clues.

He had such a great time with it...He thought it was awesome.  Of course I can't really take credit for it, because I did steal the idea.  But we had a lot of fun with it.  After the scavenger hunt, Jon had planned for chocolate fondue.  So we set up the chocolate fountain and enjoyed the chocolate.

We then watched a movie and had an enjoyable evening at home.  It was a great Valentine's Day.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Snow Day!!

Winter has finally graced us with her presence, and over the last 2 days we have gotten about 18 inches of snow.  I have not seen this much snow in Yakima in a long time.  We got about 8-9 inches of snow last night.  Because we got so much snow, we actually had church cancelled.  The last time I remember church being cancelled was when I was a little girl.  It definitely doesn't happen very often.  It is so pretty.  I LOVE it!!!

This is what it looked like yesterday before it started snowing again.

This is what it was doing when I got home from an appointment last night.  Jon was out trying to shovel what he could.

This is how it looks this morning.  We are supposed to be getting more snow through Tuesday, so we will see how much more snow we will actually get.  It sure is pretty and will be fun to play in.  I'm sure Jon will want to get sleds out and go sledding sometime this week.  Have a great 6 more weeks of winter everybody!!!

New Look!!

I like to change things up every now and then.  And I usually do that by changing my hair.  My hair was getting long and to the point where it was getting very weighed down.  It had very little bounce.  Just so you can see what my hair looked like before I cut it, here is a picture.

Now my hair looks like this.

New Beginnings

So far 2014 has been a wonderful year.  On January 6th I started a new job.  I work for a nonprofit called Community Living. I am doing the Accounts Payable for the company.  It is a company that helps people who are developmentally disabled live in the community and be able to live on their own.  I really LOVE my job.  I can't say that enough.  I work in the Corporate office and there are only about 8 people in the office.  I have my OWN office with a Window!!!!  I haven't had my own office since I lived in Utah.  I don't know why that excites me so much, but I really enjoy it.  This is a job I can see myself in for a long time.  Here are a few pictures of my office.
