Boo to you!

On Friday October 31st our office all dressed up for Halloween.  It was a little difficult to walk around in my dress, but it was a lot of fun.  Jon came to show off his costume as well because we were Snow White and Prince Charming.  It was so much fun.

That night we had our Annual Halloween Party.  We invited several families over to play games and have fun.  We had a costume contest and had some great costumes.  It is so fun when everyone dresses up and is willing to be crazy with us.

This couple was our contest winners.  Their costumes were great.

Sounders and Seahawks fans.

We had several games we played.  Besides the costume contest, we had Eating donuts off the string, bean bag toss, and charades.  Everyone brought treats to eat.  We had a lot of fun playing, eating, and visiting.

Thank you to everyone who came.  It is always fun to get to know people better.  Thanks to Jon and Sue Olson, Samantha & Kody Brandt, Catherine and Kyle Wiberg, and Cinda & Lynn Dietrick for coming.  We had a blast with all of you.

Date Night #4--Greece!

On October 25th, we enjoyed our next date to Greece!!!  We had such a blast.  We started the date with dinner at the Kabob House.  They sell Greek Mediterranean food. That place was soooo good.

Headed out for our date!

Jon at the restaurant waiting for his food.

We had hummus and pita for our appetizer.  It was surprisingly good.  I wasn't sure how I was going to like it.  Be we really enjoyed it.

Next was our main dish.  Gyros!!  I had fries with mine Jon had a Mediterranean salad.  They were both really good.  This was Jon's first time trying a Gyro.  He enjoyed it.

And of course Baklava for Dessert.  It was delicious.

I found this really cool website that gives a virtual tour.  So we were able to see some cool places in Greece.

Jon reffed basketball all day so he was pretty tired.  We had to cut the tour short so he wouldn't fall asleep.  So next up was our movie.  I wanted to show My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but I wasn't able to get a hold of it.  So I opted for The Bourne Identity.  I was able to use that for Greek night because the last scene in the film takes place in Greece.  So it worked. :)

We had such a fun time.  Wait until next month.  It's going to be great!!

Something New

We had a girl in our ward who said she had a lot of grapes that she needed to have picked, because it was more than she would ever use.  So Jon did me a favor and picked me a whole box of grapes on his day off.  So I was able to borrow a steamer from my mom and I made grape juice for the First Time Ever!!!  It was easier than I thought it would be.  I ended up getting about 14 quarts of grape juice.  It has been so good.  We sure enjoy it.

In Memoriam

On September 26, 2014 Jon's Grandma Robbins passed away at the age of 93.  The memorial was in Royal City with a dinner in Othello to follow on October 3rd.  Jon was able to get three days off for bereavement and we were able to head to Royal City.

The memorial was at this tiny little cemetery in Royal City.  By tiny I mean you can drive right past and totally miss the cemetery.  But it was a beautiful warm and sunny day.  There were a lot of family I got to meet for the first time.

There was a small program.  Ron Robbins sang How Great Thou Art.  He did a great job and it was really nice.  Grandma's bishop, Bishop Risenmay spoke for a few minutes.  Then Bishop Steve Martin dedicated the grave.  After the memorial I met Bishop Risenmay and asked him if he was related to our Area Authority 70 Elder Risenmay.  Turns out Elder Risenmay is his Uncle.  I told him I used to work with Elder Risnemay in the single adult program.  So we had a good visit.

After the memorial we headed over to the Othello church building.  They had a table set up with a lot of pictures and things about his grandma.

We had an enjoyable time visiting with everyone.  It was so great to meet so many people I had never met.
